Our Slip and Pouring
OUR PORCELAIN COLORS:
Keepsakes pours in high quality Seeley or Bell Porcelain Slip. Our standard colors are Seeley's Lady White or Bell Gold Marque French Glow. We do have available a number of other beautiful Premium colors for a small additional charge per doll. Here are our color Selections (for a larger view, click on the color tile):

I personally prepare all of my slip for pouring. Hand-stirring each gallon of slip and straining each gallon a minimum of eight to ten times to eliminate air bubbles and debris. As each piece is removed from the molds, it is inspected for imperfections and an initial cleaning is done following the "TIBS" method. Seamlines are removed and eyes cut and beveled at no additional charge to you. The greenware is inspected again before soft-firing and again after the soft-firing and before packaging. As you can see, I make every possible effort to insure that you receive only the VERY BEST soft fired greenware. I believe that you will be very pleased with your purchase. When preparing bisque-ware, we use our own "Special" methods to produce a silky smooth and easy to paint product. Your bisque-ware comes to you sanded, washed and ready for you to begin painting! When available, each sfgw or bisque order is accompanied by a copy of the body pattern, Technique Sheet and a color scan for you to paint by!
TIME FRAMES:
SFGW Orders usually take between 3 to 5 weeks to prepare and ship out. Bisque orders will require approximately 5-7 weeks. Orders for painted bisque will require between 8-10 weeks. These times are estimates only...the orders could take a slightly shorter or longer preparation time due to weather conditions, the size of your order or at certain times of the year. Larger orders may be shipped in two or more shipments to hasten your dolls to you.
SHIPPING/PACKAGING CHARGES:
All of our ware is individually wrapped in at least two layers of bubble wrap. Especially fragile pieces are cushioned in fluffy new fiber fill. The boxes are lined with foam board and the ware is nestled in "peanuts" for shipment. The individual pieces are, in most cases, filled with a biodegradable type of packaging "peanuts" that are easily removed by simply rinsing the pieces in warm water.
For shipments within the continental United States, charges for shipping are $18.75 per doll. *Shipping charges on the very large dolls (35" and up): Due to the increased shipping charges to Keepsakes for oversize parcels, the shipping on these very large dolls will be $22.50 per doll. Regardless of the actual weight of the parcel, we are charged an oversize rate of 30#'s which raises the shipping charge dramatically. There are some variations to this. On very small dolls, or those that can be packaged and shipped together in one box, the "Per Doll" price may not apply.

TERMS REGARDING INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:
We are happy to offer our services to dollmakers in foreign countries. Our policy is to refrain from lowering the declared value of shipments. The main reason for this is that we can only insure your shipment for the amount of the declaration. In order to insure your shipments to cover their value, we MUST state the actual value of the order on the Customs forms. Please don't ask us to lower these values. Remember to consider not only the cost of the items you wish to order, but also the duty you might be liable for once the shipment is received in your country. Regarding the shipping charges on replacement of lost or damaged orders: We fully guarantee our ware to arrive at your door in proper order, however, since shipping charges are much higher when sending orders outside our borders, we can only guarantee the price of the ware. Any additional shipping charges will be your responsibility. We hope that you will understand our policies and that we can continue to offer you the very finest ware available anywhere! You must notify Keepsakes immediately of any damage to your shipment. PLEASE retain ALL packaging materials and items within the package as it may be necessary to turn these items over to the Postal Department. Failure to follow these directions could result in your claim for damages being denied.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
I ask that payment be received before your greenware is poured, soft-fired and shipped. As soon as your payment is received, your greenware will be poured, soft-fired, carefully inspected & packaged and shipped to you via U.P.S. or U.S. Postal Priority Mail. You will be notified on the day that your order is shipped and given any applicable "tracking" numbers at that time. It takes from two to six weeks to assemble your order, depending upon the size of your order and how many orders are ahead of yours. I can accept payment by Personal Check, Money Order, Cashier's Check or Credit Card thru my secure server PAY PAL. Please make your check, Money Order or Cashier's Check payable to CAROLYN K. DUNN. PLACING YOUR ORDER:
You may e-mail me with your order and I will e-mail the information you will need to complete your transaction. If you wish to pay via Pay Pal, I can send you a Pay Pal Invoice from which to remit. This is by far the fastest and safest way to remit your payment.
REPLACEMENT POLICY:
GREENWARE BROKEN DURING SHIPPING: Keepsakes operates on a very narrow profit margin in order to keep the prices for our wonderful Porcelain ware affordable. Your order is guaranteed to arrive unbroken. Should you experience any breakage, you MUST notify me within 24 hours of receipt of your order. PLEASE retain ALL packaging materials and items within the package. In some cases the carrier will need to inspect them or they may possibly need to be returned to Keepsakes. After the first replacement, any further replacements will be assessed an additional shipping/handling charge. See notes on excessive breakage in shipping below: Failure to follow these directions could result in your claim for damages being denied.
OTHER SHIPPING NOTES:
In some cases, I find that for some reason excessive breakage will occur when making shipments to certain areas. If it becomes apparent that your area is one of these, I will try to find an alternate method of shipment. This could result in a slight increase in shipping charges. If I find that I cannot resolve the problem, you may choose to accept bisque pieces (at additional charge) or the price of your order minus the shipping charges will be refunded promptly. In some cases, we will request that the damaged shipment be returned to us prepaid.
PLEASE NOTE: All of our shipments are made on MONDAY to insure that your order arrives quickly and safely to your door!
